| Hello All, Just a quick question to all my fellow confused airborne amphibites out there As some of you may know, the Be-40 is one aircraft I wish to target for an eventual scratch build project (not quite decided on the scale as yet, but shall probably be either 1/72 or 1/48). I am therefore on the lookout for good reference material for this aircraft (especially accurate drawings)...Can anyone assist please? Many thanks Derek | |

My advice, steer away from a 1/32 version!

| Hmm...Just done some calcs - It's a big bugger isn't it! OAL/WS for the Be-40 in 1/144, 1/72, 1/48 and 1/32 is as follows: 1/144 = 304.445mm/288.925mm 1/72 = 608.89mm/577.85mm 1/48 = 913.34mm/866.77mm 1/32 = 1,370.01mm/1,300.16mm (Unusually, the fuselage of the aircraft is actually greater than the wingspan!). I am having problems enlarging the drawing, it pixilates badly, so I may need a higher res scan in order to enlarge it ti the scale I need (probably 1/72 scale, unless I have a mental aberration, in which case I may go up to 1/48 - just for sheer Devilment! | Hmm reference online seems a little scarce Derek! I think the same low res 3-view seems to appear more than most HERECheers Doc | |

| I can't find anything you two haven't dug up already. Might be worth a PM to Bryan Ribbans?
