| Hi,
As far as I am aware, only Hasegawa and Frog have produced this kit in 1/72 scale (apart from one example in 1/144 scale)...Are there any other makes and scales? (and which one would you recommed, assuming that it is even still possible to buy one?).
I am guessing that the Hasegawa kit will be head and shoulders above anything else, so if anyone knows where I can get hold of one, I would be gratful. Is there a 1/48 vacform version of this aircraft?
Many thanks

| I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Hasegawa and Frog kits were one and the same. I have an old Hasegawa issue and it is quite nice really, it has also just been re released I believe so is relatively easy to get hold of.
It would be a bit of a handful in 48th, it's a pretty big bird!

| Thanks Doc and Jen...The search shall continue. 1/48 is big, but this is one aircraft which demands 'presence' (which reminds me, are there any good plans for this aircraft). Cheers Derek | |

| The Frog boxing is Hasegawa tooling.

Derek It's bulky, but it would have a smaller wingspan than a B-29. It never struck me as a particularly pretty flying boat. Somehow, the Sunderland IS, to my eyes. The Mavis, OTOH, IS pretty. | |

| The Japanese company ARII produced an "EMILY" in 1:144 scale a few years ago, they are available second hand occasionally. Its a lovely kit, all recessed panel lines, I picked one up last year and its on my to make list to go with the Trumpeter Type 97 "MAVIS" I am currently building | |

| General Melchett is doing a 1:144 Emily over at Britmodeller. This is an LS boxing, presumably the same tooling as ARII? peebeep | |
